Paying It Forward

Yesterday I had the honor of being highlighted by one of my favorite bloggers as one of her favorites, so today I’m Paying It Forward and highlighting 5 of my favorite blogs. If you’d like to play along go here for the instructions and Pay It Forward to your favorites.

My decision to start blogging wasn’t an easy one. I don’t like rejection (who does) and I was petrified that no one would want to read what I had to write. Thankfully, I have great friends who gave me the push I needed to jump in with both feet. Here I am 6 months later (has it really only been 6 months?) and I don’t know how I survived without blogging. I have been so fortunate to have been accepted into this wonderful community. Here are a few of my most favorite blogs…

Spaghetti Westerner has quickly become one of my favorite bloggers and I’m very happy that I can call her my friend. I didn’t just pick her because she picked me (I promise). I would have picked her no matter what, for her style, her sense of humor, and so much more. I can always count on her to make me smile…and sometimes laugh out loud at my desk and make my coworkers look at me weird. She is one of the top 12 contestants (down to 8 now and she’s hanging on tight!) over at Blogger Idol (Go vote for her right now…I’ll wait) and she is very deserving of this honor. I hope all of you will vote for her so she can achieve world domination through blogging so I can live vicariously through her!

A Day in the Life or “Daily Mom” is who I want to be when I grow up. She’s fun, she’s smart, she’s classy, she’s the type of mom I want to be and since I’m not, I live vicariously through her (anyone else sensing a trend?) She and her adorable daughter A have the best adventures together. Despite all her perfectness that makes me green with envy, she is real and honest and downright funny. The running commentary under her daughter’s pictures adds such a loving (and hilarious) touch. Little A is so lucky to have such a wonderful documentary of her childhood. With a mom like Daily Mom you know little A is going to grow up to be an amazing person! I am lucky to call Daily Mom my friend.

A Day in the Life -dad version. (Maybe if you want me to love your blog you should title it A Day in the Life. Apparently if that’s your title I think you are amazing. Just sayin’) I dare you to read his blog and not laugh out loud. My most favorite post (so far) is his Office Memo. May I warn you that you better be in a place you can laugh. (I don’t recommend it if your boss is around because you may be making various noises not appropriate for an office setting, despite the title.) If I was a guy I think I’d be like him. At least, I would want to be like him. I love his perspective on things and his self-deprecating style keep me coming back for more.

Would, Coulda, Shoulda is another one that I dare you not to laugh while reading. Her life is the epitome of the modern day family and with each post we are along for the ride. She has serious issues to deal with but she’s able to spin them into impossibly funny tales that leave me breathless from laughing.

Luke, I Am Your Father is an amazing dad. He is dedicated, caring, and fun. He’s one of the first blogs I started reading faithfully and he never disappoints. His perspective on things is funny, witty, endearing, (enter more adjectives here). I imagine if we all had dads like him our world would be a much better place.

I hope you enjoy these blogs as much as I do. If you do, please leave them a comment on their blogs (and mine too) to let them know!

  1. You are too cute! I read your blog everyday, and yes, I get annoyed when you don't post, and love it all! Your writing is personal with a funny twist, and if I ever move (out of state) I am coming up to NY! Sorry about the driver comment on my post today, but hey those city folks are crazy :)

  2. This is terrific! Thank you. It seems like everytime I question if I should continue devoting so much time to blogging, someone does something nice like this, and I get new life breathed into it.

I think I will do my own Pay it Forward soon. And link back, of course.
