Holy Crap! He won!

You’ve heard me go on and on about how my husband has terrible luck. He does. There is no question of that. However, even the unlucky get lucky sometimes. I would prefer his luck to be used on him finding a new job but I’m also not going to look a gift horse in the mouth!

A couple of weeks ago we attended the Madison-Bouckville Antique show. (If you like antiques I suggest you plan to attend next year, no matter where you live. This is the MOTHER of all antique shows. If you want it, they got it!) At the entry gate there were forms to enter a raffle. As one who never passes up a free raffle, I made everyone who came with me enter. I didn’t even know what the prize was. Well, we found out! My husband’s entry won a free trip to the Berkshires to stay in a resort for the weekend!! Holy Crap you guys! He never wins ANYTHING! EVER!

The best part (or worst, depending on your point of view) is that we get to take our kids. Finding, and worrying about, a babysitter for the weekend is a much bigger headache than actually taking them with us!

We’ll have to listen to their 90-minute schpiel (probably about a time-share) but we learned our lesson with the pots (that is a story for another time) and we won’t be sold anything we don’t need. I can say that with authority because no way can we afford a timeshare of any cost, no matter how good the presentation is!

We have little time to prepare. The trip is next weekend! We would have known about it sooner but we screen our calls when we don’t recognize the number and Vac Vil Resort didn’t mean anything to us! Finally, after weeks of these phone calls – even as late as 9pm – I told him to just answer it! Boy I’m glad he did!! Beside the free resort stay, we also get a $125 Visa card to use however we want!

We’ve learned that whenever you go on an “all inclusive” vacation it doesn’t actually include everything but not having to pay for the resort will be really nice. We never go on vacations like this so it will be a great experience for all of us.

I can’t wait!!
